Fair Day from the Sorceress...
Fair Day, All.
Welcome to Dream Teller's Lair. As a new day dawns we come full circle; a new beginning. There is much to be thankful for and 'tis life which provides each of us with new possibilities and opportunities. I am the Sorceress JoHaunna and I am pleased to visit with you, once again. On this day, the first of June, I adjure each of you to pause in your busy day and give thought to the meaning of life. Consider your blessings, health; home; family; and career and if you do no' feel blessed look around you.
Everywhere, in every corner of the earth and all points between, is evidence of all which the peoples of the earth have been blessed with. Many will say nay for there are wars being raged; diseases being visited upon entire populations; theft being perpetrated by heads of giant corporations; and drugs and weapons falling into the hands of our youth. I could go on and on but 'tis no the negative which one should allow to rule one's existence.
I have chosen this particular topic to speak about for the many e-mails received here at the Lair which define so many as becoming hopeless, angry, and fearful. I speak to you from experience, of which I have much. As most of you are aware, my partner, the Warlock Gregory, and I give a great deal of our time to causes that aid children. No' just children of our Kind but all the innocents of every Kind; for children are children the world over. 'Tis a touching experience and often times excrutiatingly sad, yet, even in the direst of circumstances 'tis the children who teach us what life is about.
So many of the children we rescue (often stumble upon without warning) come from situations that no living Being should ever face. Yet, no matter how dire their circumstances, many of those little ones find it within themselves to embrace the opportunities we offer them. Most often the public is treated to news reports of children who are rescued from some trauma or another, and how the professionals predict that those children will never be able to become contributing members of society. And certain of those are true. But 'tis the way of society to make quick determinations because 'statistics' have shown...
Children are no' statistics, nor is any other Being. Statistics have a place in the scope of things but they are no more than the sum total of what/whom is being studied at a particular time, for a given period of time, and with resources that must be considered. Society has become one to rely upon statistics of which most people are no more certain of who is compiling those, what rules and regulations are being closely followed or no', and then one should consider the bias of human nature.
The point of this exercise is this: Many of you are so willing to allow your choices to be molded by the expectations of a common society; to follow along with the masses. Thankfully, young children have no' yet been brainwashed into that way of thinking and doing. 'Tis why they are able to rise above what appears to us as hopeless and reach out for an opportunity. And if children can do so adults can with extra effort.
If so many were no' allowing others to make their choices for them, mayhap, we would have a larger population of those who think and do for themselves. I will take this one step further for I feel 'tis justified. The American population is falling far behind other countries in almost every important area. 'Tis my belief, and that of many of my colleagues, that so long as such large numbers of people are only too willing to turn their back on 'living life' and accept certain societal edicts, like mindless sheep, those people will no' ever awaken too look upon each new day as a blessing. 'Tis a pill-popping society ( a pill for every imaginable thing) in which people will continue the downward spiral that allows their choices to be made for them. Many times someone has sounded the alarm at the number of children and young adults being diagnosed as ADD and ADHD and being drugged to the point that they are near mindless idiots. Parents and professionals say 'tis the only way to control them. I say to you, 'tis the parents who have given up parenting and the professional who is eager to prove his theory and line his/her pockets. The issue here is 'control' . One controls animals; one leads and guides children, non?
'Tis ne'er too late to awaken and take charge of one's existence. Difficult though it may well be too reclaim your sense of being, it can be done. Thus... a new day, a new opportunity. One step at a time one can make changes in one's life and the going is most often slow. But, the new focus is the beginning, determination is the drive, and the ability to look down the old habits and refuse to fall into what feels more comfortable is the test of one's nature and ability.
I am sitting here looking out upon a beautiful 'new' sunrise and a vast expanse of gray-blue sky. I am left wondering if the sun will trump the threat of rainstorms, and knowing that either of Mother Nature's contributions will possess a remarkable beauty that can no' be duplicated by any other. And in the knowing is that today, regardless of weather, is a new beginning. And with that is the renewed hope that Gregory and I and our colleagues will be able to offer others new hope; a new beginning. For what is life without sharing one's good fortune? Whether that hope be born of kindness or financial means 'tis the caring and sharing which defines each of us as a Kind deserving of a new day.
Blessings Upon All, JoHaunna
