The Witch's Stone

Bonjour mes amies.

Aye and 'tis been some time since last we posted to the Blog. We have upgraded to the new Google account (hopefully with no glitches). I say that because Eric and Famey, our resident computer experts, are out of town and I tried this on my own. Aye, lil ole me; Kaithlin, and we all know...well I am expert on the keyboard but the brain of the beast is no' my arena. So, we shall see.

As I am sure you have noticed, we remain behind in keeping up with the Blog...ah, but we have finally put the finishing touches to the Membership Organization. Our first 82 full-fledged members (you recall we began with 150 but completed final background checks left us with this number) have been welcomed and we are excited and most pleased to have them. Aye, and we will reopen the membership at a later time as many of our newbies are basic level with much to learn. We will be searching for more advanced members who can work directly with us. The background checks will more extensive, for obvious reasons. In the meantime...

We have something we think will be of interest to both our Blog visitors and our members. With Dream Teller's permission we are set to offer a new challenge. And here it is:

Dream Teller has in her possession 'something' which fascinates those who see it. 'Tis something she treasures and she keeps it well-guarded. The few who have seen it have speculated as to its origins, which gave us the idea for the challenge. There is no denying that one feels a certain power radiating from it, and its odd beauty holds ones fascination. Dream Teller calls it her Witch's stone. At first glance it simply appears to be a large stone of some sort. But upon closer inspection one begins to see the detail which draws the attention.

Like Dream Teller, the Warlock Gregory believes it to be of ancient origin; mayhap, once the possession of a powerfult Warlock, Sorceress, or Majician. How exciting is that!

Dream Teller did allow her late spouse to chip off some small pieces and have it professionally tested. The results add to the fascination. 'Twas determined it was no' a mere rock, and it possesses elements that can no' be identified by the latest technology. So, where to go from there to determine its origins? You tell us. Dream Teller uses it in some of her rituals and the benefits are amazing.

Here is how the challenge will work: we will post a photograph of the Witch's Stone and we invite you to begin digging through any information you can resource to help us attempt to identify the origin of the stone. At present, we are searching through the European history of Witches, and the like. If you find anything that appears to identify the stone you see, let us know and we will post your find alongside the stone.

Now, we do realize there are those unsavory characters who would desire to own the stone for their own evil purposes. Let it be known that the stone 'tis no' lying around in plain view. Only Dream Teller, the Warlock Gregory, and the Sorceress JoHaunna know where 'tis kept and the spell shield which protects it 'tis one that has never been compromised. You will find the photo posted to the to our welcome page, in a short time. Happy hunting! Oh, and there will be a prize for the one who successfully identifies the origin of the Witch's Stone. There will be future updates, so visit again to discover certain of the composition of the stone that has been identified. Blessed May You Be, Kaithlin

Bonjour mes amies.

Many of you may well be thinking that we at Dream Teller's Lair have lost interest in publishing to our Blog. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are, simply, so very busy with all that comes our way. I recently posed the question regarding 'Fear' to the Warlock Gregory, one whom I never considered to fear anything or anyone. How wrong I was. Here is what he had to say.

"Fear 'tis a feeling no one of us can escape, though the source of it will naturally differ from person to person." That, coming from the Master Warlock, most certainly begged the question I put to him. Given who you are and what you do, and your strengths, are there things you fear? His answer:

Fear is derived of many and varied sources; some known, others unknown. In and of itself, fear is intangible yet, without question, is sensed and/or felt. No one, human or otherwise, is exempt though many who consider themselves above all others will deny experiencing fear. Just because one is possessed of greater strengths or powers than others does no' make one immune. Some will think themselves immune while they and others will voice that belief but fear is universal to all Kinds. One might wonder at that; wonder why, for instance, an Immortal would 'fear' anything or any situation. As we have discussed here before, immortality is a much deceiving term. Any living Being can be destroyed; life ended.

'Tis the very nature of longevity or immortality which most often leads to the demise of one with such an extended existence. Because ending such an existence requires much more than those circumstances that easily end the life of a Human, other Beings tend to tempt the Fates; take risks far out of what is considered a safe existence.

Humans actually have a greater sense of self-worth, a greater desire to exist, and a better understanding of what is safe than other Beings. Certainly there are Humans with skewed concepts of safety, or the lack there of, but the general majority understand what is required to maintain a safe existence. 'Tis their fear of natural disasters, accidents, and debilitating illnesses that lead them to dwell well within the parameters of safety as much as they can.

Due to extended life expectancies the longer one exists the less other Beings fear; time being the culprit which leads to the shrinking sense of danger one may incur. Some (consider those who have lived for centuries) reach the point where no such sense exists any longer. They have lived such a long life that there are those who have forgotten what fear feels like thus without that sense there is no instinct to warn of danger. They rely, solely, upon their extraordinary senses, heightened sight, hearing, and such but without instinctual feelings, they are at a grave deficit.

Vampyres are most notorious for falling into that trap, for theirs is a long and arduous journey through many Human lifetimes. Too, while the Werewolf is no' immortal but enjoys longevity well beyond Human years, some will also lose the instinct to determine what is or is no' very real danger. Few Humans ever lose that instinct and because of it they are more apt to survive a natural existence than other Kinds.

Down through the ages Warlocks and Sorceresses were also notorious for becoming so self-absorbed in believing their powers and strengths set them above others that many fell victim to that belief. The more powerful one becomes the more overly confident one becomes and the more likely one is to place oneself in harms way. 'Tis those, grandious feelings and overconfidence, which become the bane of the existence of many of us.

Humans are often jealous of the extraordinary abilities of others, and fear those as well but in truth 'tis those gifts which often turn on us and become our curses; often, our death sentence. As we often teach our young there is reason for all things, why we have gifts others do no' have; why others are no' possessed of specific gifts or abilities. 'Tis the differences in each Kind which make us who and what we are and 'tis how it was meant to be. As we all attempt to learn to interact with one another 'tis imperative to work around and past petty jealousies, suspicions, and the like and we can only do that by working to understand and accept one anothers differences as being a natural part of that particular Kind.

We have worked long and hard to bring that acceptance about and there is much work to be done. But we are seeing some positive results. 'Tis what we, here at the Lair, are all about; furthering understanding and acceptance. 'Twill always be the nay-sayers and the non-believers but with the progression of time and modern, forward thinking we can achieve our goals. Those of you who visit this Blog are part of the trend in forward thinking and together we can teach that certain fears are groundless.

Always remember that a certain amount of fear is healthy; neccessary to one's survival. But that fear should no' extend to other areas simply because of what is no' known. Learn; for there are those of us willing to teach and demonstrate that we are no' 'monsters' without conscience. We, too, seek a safe and healthy existence and are willing to have you join with us in that effort. Fair Day, Gregory.

Answers...

Aye, I'm a day late posting to our Blog. We are managing to wade through the mail that piled up and Dream Teller has answered some of those.

To Royce in Maryland: While I appreciate your enthusiasm regarding the membership drive we launched, I can no' guarantee you a particular level. All depends upon the criteria spelled out in the application. Your skills sound impressive but remain to be seen. Complete the entire application, return it, and it will be judged accordingly. Blessed May You Be.

To Cheyanne in Wyoming: Aye, Garth is truly a Vampyre. If you care to go back through our archives you will learn much about him. You can also read a couple of his posts. He is nothing like the fictional characters one reads about or sees in movies. If you met him face to face you would have no idea that he is 'different' from other men, other than the fact that he is taller than most. He has a wonderful sense of humor but make no mistake, he is no' one to abide foolishness. Blessed May You Be.

To Greta in Louisiana: 'Tis no' as difficult as you would think for Humans and other Kinds to establish relationships. Granted, it requires a great deal of effort and the ability to accept the differences, one to the other but in doing so things progress much the same as ordinary relationships. Are there drawbacks to mixed-Kind relationships? Certainly, for some. But those relationships rarely come about spur of the moment, and the parties involved usually go in with eyes wide open. Too, each of them is a special individual with special abilities. The Human partner generally posseses some sort of extraordinary ability which is what draws another Kind to them in the first place. However, there are some who do no possess those abilities or those are latent and are eventually discovered. Be that as it may, 'tis no a relationship for the faint of heart for many things must be considered that are out of the norm, so to speak. Welcome to our Blog and Blessed May You Be.

To Danielle in Washington: To obtain an application one merely has to e-mail one's request and it will be sent you. Blessed May You Be.

To Trace in Idaho: Aye, Crystals , Gems, and Stones are indeed powerful channeling tools and talismans. Throughout history those have been used by different cultures that have utilized the powr within. Those are used in myriad ways and for many purposes. Their power and potential , when used in accordance with divine law, have no equal. Working with them is a true art; an art that requires the ability to tune into them by neutralizing the mind and developing sensitivity beyond the ordinary. The crystal can become like a mirror reflecting light into one's consciousness to achieve many things; inner peace, source of truth, and so on. They are most notably used for healing purposes and raising the higher consciousness. They are wonderfully powerful purifiers and energizers. Thus the reason many wear them as jewelry or place them in stragic places about their home. But take heed, for they must be cared for; cleansed, and re-energized. Ther are many types, too numerous to mention but in the near future I will begin to to name them and their possible uses. Blessed May You Be.

To Rochelle in Arkansas: One does no' merely become a shape-shifter, dear. Whomever he is, I assure you he is feeding you a line. Well may he be of American Indian blood but shape-shifting does no' just come with the pedigree. From what you have told me he sounds like a wanna-be, out to impress or frighten you, whichever the case may be. I would take care for when one goes to such extremes as he, he may well be mentally unbalanced. Blessed May You Be.

To Craig in Scotland: Aye, and 'tis often heard late on the moors. Some call it the Banshee's Wail. There are many tales concerning the Banshee but in truth 'tis the wail associated with the death of a dear one and no' of some creature out to wreak death upon whomever is out and about. Too, 'tis also the sound of the wailing winds the area is noted for and one must have heard both in order to know the difference. My guess is what you heard is the wind but... whoever knows, hmm? Blessed May You Be.

To Dana in Texas: I know I have said many times that I was close to publishing my novels but so many things have set the date back, time and again. Per force, writing and publishing runs a distant second to what needs my attention at the Lair. And thus, I will only say I hope to get around to completing the finishing touches in the near future. Thank you for asking. Blessed May You Be.

To Tom L. in Hawaii: What was sent you is known among those who practice the Black Arts as the Chain Curse. 'Tis used to curse disobedient demons who refuse to follow the conjurer's orders. The conjurer threatens the disobedient with the power of the demon's superiors. 'Tis my belief that someone attempted to use demonic force against you and when the conjuration failed the Chain Curse was used. Why it was sent you? To frighten you. The conjuration is in and of itself frightening but can no' harm you merely by being mailed to you. My question is this; whom do you know who would go to such lengths to harm you? The calling up of demons is a nasty business and given the use of the Chain Curse I have to think whomever is making such attempts knows a great deal, or knows someone who does, about such things. 'Tis no' something just plucked from a book or the air, for that Curse is no' easily found. Beware whom you call friend. Blessed May You Be.

To Lexa in Tennessee: The Lemegeton and the Lesser Key of Soloman are one and the same. Divided into four parts, it controls the offices of all demons at the will of the operator. It deals with evoking all classes of demons and the opening Rites are those belonging to Lucifer, Bel, and Astaroth. You are correct to be concerned at finding such a book in the hands of one so young. 'Tis a dangerous prospect, that; even reading such even if she does nothing with it. I have to wonder where she got it and hopefully 'twas no stolen, for 'tis of grave concern if the latter is true. You must find out where she got it and if it wasloaned her, or stolen, return it post haste. Otherwise, burn it but be 100% positive it does no' belong to an individual. Blessed May You Be.

'Tis my hope that we will be able to get back to posting to our blob on a regular basis in the very near future. But I would remind all again that the nature of our business must always come first. Blessings upon all, Dream Teller.
