Life's Journey
Greetings All.
'Tis a new day; another opportunity to right wrongs, achieve goals, turn former failures into successes, lend a hand, offer a smile, try again. Those and more are the bounty of each new day in the journey of life. For what is life but opportunity endowed each of us who awaken with the new day? If one looks upon life's journey as a series of trips; those already taken and those yet to be embarked upon, mayhap one will get the sense that failure, no matter how small or large, is not the end of the journey. Rather, failure can be looked upon as a warning sign; a dead-end on that particular road of choice. If one cannot go further then another choice must be made and it is by choice that one either gives up and abandons the journey, or turns around and seeks a new route.
One may take several wrong turns along life's journey but with determination and grit one can choose to turn those mistakes into learning experiences rather than failures. On the other hand, one can choose to accept defeat; a much traveled road, the easy choice that leads to many such choices that lend themselves to failure.
There are those who say they have no choice in certain matters, the bane of their continual failures, but those are people who choose to opt out of making their own decisions for fear of failing yet again. No matter the situation (I am speaking of life and not death visited upon one without any means of defense), one always has choices. Those may not be glaringly obvious in the moment, but choices there are. One can nay-say all one wishes, whine, moan, and complain of unfairness but life will prove one out in the end.
There is an old saying that 'misery loves company' and never the truer was spoken. If one chooses (and it is by choice) to fall in with the failures who constantly complain of the unfairness of life and their miserable lot, one can expect no more than the sharing of misery and defeat. Those who refuse to seek solace among the failures are those who succeed at life. They look upon failures as no more than mistakes to be corrected, wrong turns in their journey, for which they turn around and seek an alternate route; no matter how many times they must turn around.
The point in all of this? Mistakes to be corrected with regard to all Kinds and by all Kinds. Failure to recognize opportunities afforded to learn, recognize, accept, assist, and be assisted. A new day, another opportunity in this journey called life. Ponder.
