Follow up...
Good evening, all.
I trust you gained some valuable information from this morning's post. While that glimpse into Suzaunna's past allowed you to learn of the particular dangers she and others experienced at that time, it might shock you to learn that she and her family have met with many more equally serious situations in the course of their lives. Certainly, not all Witches have such hair-raising experiences such as those, but due to the nature of all they do in the interest of others, their lives are constantly on the line.
One might wonder why they put themselves in the line of fire, rather than keep to themselves. 'Tis because they are selfless, caring people; each following the calling for which they were destined. Many others turn a blind eye to those in need, preferring to ignore what they consider none of their concern. If you are one of those, 'tis your choice to do as you please but know that ignoring does no' make your choice right. No' everyone is cut out to take up the cause of the needy in ways that could bring harm to their self, but there are many other ways to offer assistance without putting one's person in harms way.
Often, taking the time to make a phone call to the proper authorities will save lives or spare someone the trauma they will otherwise suffer without aid. I constantly wonder what quirk of nature allows a Human Being to be able to ignore another in need; how one can listen or watch harm being done to another and merely walk away from it.
Had Garth simply remained silent and let all of those children die at the hands of those monsters, no one but he would have been the wiser. But to know Garth is to know the man who is Vampyre; a man who could no' live with himself had he no' intervened on their behalf. I say to you, all, you who fail to render some measure of aid to one in need will rue your choice. Mayhap the day may come when 'tis you or your loved one in dire straits, and what would you say to the person who turned and walked away? I urge everyone to examine your lives to date and if you find you have failed another, make haste to change your ways. None of us knows when our time on this earth is set to expire, and those who foolishly wait for the last moment to cry out for mercy for their sins of ommission may well discover they waited too late.
Harsh words are most often the only way to get someone's attention and if I have been harsh, I make no apology. The world is full enough of selfish people without counting yourself among them. Think, act responsibly, and reap the reward of knowing your humanity is alive and well. Join those of us who refuse to be branded inhumane and the world will be a better place for your kindness. Blessed May You Be.
