The Nature of Things

Bonjour, mes amies.

'Tis a beautiful day with the sun peaking over the horizon. Fair day to all and may the Fates smile upon you. We have been so busy here at the Lair and our e-mail is piling up at a fast rate. As we plow through it 'tis exciting to note that so many of you are interested in obtaining a new membership to the Lair. Too, your continued interests in all who pass through here and those who reside and work here is exhilerating. While we have been busy 'tis been a pleasant interlude this past month as the darker nature of things has been kept at a minimal. 'Tis no' to say we have had no dealings with the evil that continually lurks in the shadows, for we have. But even evil-doers take a break by the bye and for that we are most thankful.

Twice over the past two weeks someone (or some thing) has tried to sabotage our efforts to assist a sister coven in central Louisiana. The air there fair reeks with the stench of evil and 'tis upon the shoulders of the resident Warlock to defend his coven against what is yet to be fully known. We have sent some of our colleagues into the area and with so much combined power 'tis but a matter of time before the intruder(s) will be run to ground. Powerful wards and spells have been initiated for protection and while the Witches hunt by day, the Vampyres patrol the night. The rest of us lend our efforts by adding our mental powers and strengths to theirs; an effectve effort that can be done from wherever we may be.

So you see another facet of how we work together. As we have often said, there are never enough of us to reach out to all who need our help. 'Tis from you, our visitors who seek membership, that we hope to discover new colleagues; whether gifted kin, or loyal Outsiders. As our network of allies grows we will have more eyes and ears to assist in our efforts. And the larger our network, the more difficult it becomes for those who seek to harm, to carry out their deeds.

You see, while our enemies have gained some knowledge of how we operate ('tis impossible to keep all, secret) the ever constant changes we initiate most often void the information they come by before 'tis of any use to them. Aye, and often we make available information that is useless and no' even attribuatable to a particular project or cause. Again, you can see how much time and effort goes into what we do. 'Tis folks like you whom we depend upon to spread misinformation by word of mouth, via the internet, and so on. While it all may sound an impossible task 'tis been most effective, and that because we all work together. Plans of action are key to informing or misinforming, as the case may be. Those plans are ne'er fully available to but a few. Rather, each colleague or group of colleagues is in possession of only part of a plan; the part they are to carry out. If all do as planned the whole comes together. In the event that one or another part of the plan can no' be carried out there is always a back-up resting with yet another colleague.

It may sound difficult and chaotic but 'tis actually simple and most effective. Given modern technology and that we also use the most basic tried and true methods of communication, once again one can never be sure what we are actuallly about at a given time. And remember, our gifts of mental communication, into the bargain.

'Tis off-balance methods and means we employ to continue to achieve success. Many of the Other work alone or in small numbers and rarely are they well-organized. Those who perpetrate evil are greedy, impatient and thus adhere to no real plan. Only the most powerful have any real degree of success and are the most difficult to neutralize. That is no' to say the lessers are no' sometimes difficult to stop for 'tis their disorganized and random attacks that come out of nowhere which is the degree of difficulty we most overcome. (This information is given to help you decide if you wish to become an assisting member of the Lair's colleagues). Knowing the possible dangers is forearmed. We will hold other discussions along and along in order for you to make informed decisions pertaining to the level of membership you wish to attain.

Blessed May You Be, Kaithlin

And now to post Dream Teller's answers to some e-mail:
