Update and e-mail

Bonjour, mes amies.

'Tis pleased we are at the number of applicants who have applied for membership to the Lair. So many of you have been offering suggestions and expressing ideas which are most welcomed. Some of those pertain to the workings of the membership, while others pertain to what we do in the field. In future, those which meet the criteria set forth for our operations will be incorporated into our plans of action.

We are most pleased with the level of caring you have shown for what we are about and even more pleased with your desire to join us. Thus far we have no' had any derogatory feedback but we know 'tis bound to happen at some point. So take care whom you invite to join us. As we speak, application packets are being sent out so please be patient. All of us here at the Lair look forward to welcoming our new membership and building a strong and lasting relationship with each of you. And now to post some e-mail...

To Tarrin in N. Dakota: Ritual possession 'tis at the opposite end of the spectrum from demonic possession. Demonic possession is involuntary; the person taken over for purely evil purposes. Ritual possession occurs by invitation and is considered a sacred rite of communion with the good spirits. 'Tis a highly sophisticated majical art which should never be attempted but by the most experienced spiritual leaders i.e. High Priest or Priestess, Shaman (most common to the Shaman though others are quite experienced in the art). 'Tis the possession by good spirits which empowers the one possessed to perform such as a powerful Healing or other majical art, while the spiritual leader is present to interpret and supervise. Blessed May You Be.

To Josh in Nevada: 'Tis no' an option you are considering but a treacherous undertaking. One's destiny should never be bartered, irregardless of what you may consider good intent. To do so defies the Fates and 'twould be for naught. Destiny should no' ever be toyed with. While each of us has choices as to which path we choose, the choice to deliberately skew your path even to render aid to another will no appease nor please the Fates. In the beginning and in the end 'tis your friend's choice to make, no' yours. I hope you will reconsider and step back. There are many whom we can no' save for they have no wish to be saved. Blessed May You Be.

To Sharon in California: Wanna-be, wanna-be... Act your age. 'Tis foolish to romanticize what is no' romantic in the least. Do no' mistake all for being like Garth and Roman. While there is a respectable number who feel comfortable in mortal society and who have relationships with mortal women, there are many more who prefer keeping to their own society with their own Kind. Count your blessings that he is no' a rogue else you would no' be around to tell the tale. Face the obvious; he is no' interested. Forget you ever had contact with him before he is forced to wipe your memory, for that could well lead to difficulty for you. End of story.

To Leslie in Alabama: The Runes are believed to be of Nordic descent. Each contains three elements: geometric shape, a mystical meaning, and an audible or phonetic sound. They have many uses, most common is for divination, meditation, and the casting of spells. Each Rune is identified with one or more Nordic dieties and radiates a specific power. Runic alphabets are known as a Futhark and consists of 24 characters in a specific order. They are considered sacred symbols. Modern Runes contain a blank Rune which does no' correspond with traditional systems, for which traditionalists disapprove. However, 'tis never been proven that the blank is detrimental to the use of the Runes as a whole. As with anything, more is learned of it down through the ages and in modern times that knowledge brings forth an evolution of newer ways of doing. 'Tis the tried and true that many rely upon while others are open-minded enough to give the new a chance. Choice... Blessed May You Be.

To Maryanne in Massachusetts: Depends upon why one is attempting to summon spirits. There should be no possession (unless one is inexperienced and summons the wrong spirits) but communication between the spirit and the summoner. Many practice spirit summoning for 'tis among the most common forms of majic for the purpose of 'spirit working'. 'Tis a very ancient and traditional practice used to accomplish many purposes. I would caution against attempting such a feat without either experience, or one with experience, to guide the summoner. Blessed May You Be.

To Larry in Texas: The points of day of which you inquire are merely times of day that are significantly more powerful than other times. 'Tis those times in which the thresholds between certain realms are more easily accessible and the powers of Majic are intensified. Most notable are: Noon, precise mid-day (the sun passes from East to West); Midnight, commonly known as the Witching Hour; The Hour of the Wolf, no precise moment but the earliest, still hours after midnight and before dawn; and The Hour of Spirits (Geisterstunde) in some areas of Germany, which is the hour between 11:00 p.m. and midnight. The Spirit Nights are three: Halloween (All Hallow's Eve), Midsummers Eve, and May Eve. 'Tis these nights when spirits of various Kinds are free to inhabit our realm and 'tis during these times when Majic Makers set about communicating with them. Blessed May You Be.

To Tonya in Georgia: Aye, I have read the book. 'The Search for Bridey Murphy' is most interesting, and I have one of the original volumes in my library. For some 'tis but a story, to others 'tis actual proof of reincarnation. Given the many things discovered, (ex. chards of the teaset) which were found exactly where the regression led her, I give full credence to the facts. I would suggest this book to all who have an interest in reincarnation. One may only find it now in libraries or from businesses that seek out older titles. Blessed May You Be.

Fair day, all. Dream Teller
